England bounced back from a disappointing loss to Greece with a commanding 3-1 victory over Finland at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium in Group B2 of the UEFA Nations League. Goals from Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Declan Rice secured the win.
Grealish opened the scoring in the 18th minute, capitalizing on a clever reverse pass from Angel Gomes to slot the ball past Finland's goalkeeper, Lukas Hradecky. Finland had chances to level the game but failed to convert, and Alexander-Arnold extended England’s lead in the 74th minute with a stunning free kick curled into the top corner from 20 yards out. Declan Rice added a third 10 minutes later, finishing off a cross from substitute Ollie Watkins.
Finland's Arttu Hoskonen managed to pull one back with an 87th-minute header from a corner, but it was too late to mount a full comeback.
England’s interim manager, Lee Carsley, made six changes from the side that suffered a 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley. Captain Harry Kane returned to the lineup after injury, while Carsley opted for a more conventional formation after the experimental setup against Greece faltered.
England now sit second in Group B2 with nine points from four games, level with Greece, who have a game in hand. Finland remain at the bottom of the group without a point. Greece will host Ireland later on Sunday.
